RESEARCH 

Author of Navigating New Media Networks and Interpersonal Encounters

My current research focus is on social interaction in virtual reality. The McEwan Mediated Communication Laboratory is currently working on SSHRC-funded research examining cognitive load in collaborative VR settings. 

Other work engages online communities, mediated social networks, and information diffusion. 

Previous research has been published in Communication Monographs, New Media & Society, Journal of Social and Personal Relationships, Personal Relationships, Communication Studies, Computers in Human Behavior, Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking, and others.
